Tummy sleepers

How many of your little ones sleep on their tummies?

My dd rolls herself over and stays there now. Scares me but if i flip her back, shell roll over again.

Just curious how many other aug 2012 babies are stomach sleepers now

  • Chloe just started. I lay her on her back, she rolls to her belly in her sleep, wakes up and scares herself, cries, and eventually puts her head down and goes to sleep. Right now she is sleeping on her side.
  • Mine! I hate it! It literally scares me when I see him on the monitor rolled to his tummy, I run in there and turn him over...but give him an hour and he rolls right back to his tummy.

I wish there was something I could do! Is it 'okay' for them

  • I have a tummy sleeper and head bury-er here.  He loves to have his face flat in the mattress, or he will cover it with his lovey, always with his butt in the air and arms at his sides.  I let him fall asleep that way and then will go in a coupl

  • Charlotte does now. We just go with it. She lifts her head well and is nearly crawling, so I feel it is safe.

My only concerns are as follows. First, her quality of sleep doesn't seem as high as it did when she was swaddled and on her back.

  • Yes, DD just started doing this a week ago when we transitioned her to her crib.  I don't like it, but she STTN now so I just check her on the video monitor or go in the room if I am really worried.

  • Mine has been a tummy sleeper since he was 4 1/2 months old. He just turned 8 months! Won't sleep any other way :
  • I lay my guy on his back to sleep and he always rolls to either his side or his stomach. My DH still is paranoid but he has been doing it for about 3 months now so I figure he is okay.
  • Once in a while DS2 will roll onto his tummy.  He sleeps longer so I don't mind lol.
