Success after IF

PSA mastitis

So, I nursed around 6:30 this morning and felt a few twinges in my right breast, nothing painful. At 8:45 I woke up feeling like someone was stabbing the underside of my breast. I got up, realized I was shaking and freezing and achy. My temp was 99.8 and 45 minutes later it was 100.8. I saw my OB at 1:15 and had red streaks across my breast already. Thank goodness my husband was around. He was supposed to go back to work today but now took a few more days off. I almost passed out before we left for the doctors because I felt so aweful. Moral of my storycall right away if something is off! I was shocked how miserable I felt in such a short amount of time. Now I'm on antibiotics and Motrin and already feel much better!

  • I understand its very scary. You go from feeling fine to feeling like death in a very short period of time. I had it twice in 14 months which I still think is lucky but it does knock you down fast.

    You need to get lots of rest and drink lots

  • Oh no! {{HUGS}}

    I had masitis twice. You feel like you have the flu. It hurts like a SOB too. I have learned that I have to nurse at night to keep it from happening.

  • I had mastitis 3 times during the first 5 months I BF, in addition to multiple clogged ducts.  All of this largely contributed to why I started weaning at the 5 month mark.
