For Mobile Users: Potentially Dumb Question about MOTN Feedings
Do you let LO decide when to stop waking up at night for feedings or do you actually "train" them out of it?
DD1 sttn at 9 weeks so outside of sleep training to get her to fall asleep on her own in her crib at the beginning of the night, we never dealt with MOTN feedings for very long, so Im kind of clue less.
DD2 is still waking up several times a night and usually 2 times a night I nurse her-- the other times a binky replacement, shushing etc gets her back to sleep. Her pedi mentioned at her 4 month appt that she is big enough and eating enough during the day to nix the nightime feedings but she genuinely seems hungry and actually fully nurses, not just for comfort, so I havent done anything, just assuming she'd do it on her own at some point. Should I be doing something to get her out of this MOTN feeding pattern since her pedi said she doesnt need it? Is this a habit or a need? I dunno, can babies even eat out of habit alone?
I realize how stupid this sounds as Im typing it, so sorry to be a bimbo on this one!

ds#2 is 7 months old and still eats 2-3 times at night.
As long as its quick and he goes back to sleep after, I'm not worried about it.

Thanks for all the replies. Last night DD seemed to be on a 4.5 hour schedule, which resulted in two wakings for feedings which Im fine with. Im going to see if thats her new pattern or a fluke and work from there.
I think watching her spacing o
Not a dumb question at all! My DD gets up for one MOTN feeding every night. When we saw the pedi for her 6 month appointment, he said she definitely does not "need" that feeding and I should cut it out. However, I am still torn. Primarily because she i
