My mom is in town, she hasn't seen DD1 since she was 4 months old, just because of work and living far away. I feel bad, but I am ready for her to go home after just one day.
Yesterday we went out to lunch, and DD1 kept switching from her knees to her butt in her chair. My mom just kept getting on her about it, and when she got out of her chair, I went to tell her to get back on it, and my mom said "Don't, I have got it under control." Umm, my kid, not yours! I know she means well, and feels bad she missed out on so much with her first grand child, but ease into it.
She gets all up in her face, and tells her what to do, and when my daughter gets an attitude (because my mom is basically a stranger to her), she flips out on me for not parenting her better.
No respect for naps, or my sleep, and I want her to just go home haha. Total vent, I understand there are things that I need to confront her about, and other things aren't worth the fight, but sheesh, I am glad we live no where near either grandmas (most of the time)
Re: Ugh Mom
That is annoying! I think my mom struggled a little with the idea that I'm the parent now. Then there's my MIL who seems to take offense if we do things differently than she did. For example we haven't really started TV yet
