Infant vs Convertible Car Seat

For those of you who transitioned from infant to convertible, do you find it more difficult to get your LO in and out of the convertible car seat or was the infant seat more difficult?

My LO has a few inches to go before he outgrows his infant seat but it is getting pretty heavy to lug around. I'm tempted to get a convertible car seat if it's not a pain to get a kiddo in and out of.

Re: Infant vs Convertible Car Seat

  • DD still fits in her infant seat but we switched to a convertible at 7mo.  Unless she's fighting the seat it's very easy to get her in and out of.

  • Once i got used to the convertible seat, it is way easier.  And I think DS is more comfortable in it.  Glad we made the switch even though he still fit in his infant seat.

  • I leave it in the car now since LO is getting heavy. But have been looking into a convertible one for when she outgrows. I don't find the infant one too hard though except when she fights it and doesn't want to sit.

  • The convertible is way easier...to put him in and on my arms. I do not miss carrying the infant seat around, at all.

The infant seat was perfect for naps though. I never had to wake him up and could just cart him anywhere while sleeping...can

  • Our seat is in the middle too (it won't fit behind the front seats) and I'm only average height. On the few occasions that I have had to take LO out his infant seat I have to climb into the car. I would imagine that regardless of the type of sea
