Puff gagger

I will set Jack up in his high chair with some puffs and a sippy with a little water in it for practice. He keeps gagging on his puffs! Does anyone else have this problem? Does he just need to keep practicing? He refuses all other solids except purees because he gags.

    Did you just start giving him puffs?  When we first started giving DS puff, at 6 months old...he gagged on them at first too and it was because he wasn't used to mashing with his mouth.  He eventually got the hang of it and doesn't gag anymore.<

    No, he's been offered them for a couple of months, but not on a super regular basis. I guess he just needs to keep practicing.

    I broke them into pieces when I first gave them to DD. She has mastered puff eating quickly.

    I still break the bigger ones (rice cakes) because she tried to shove the whole thing in her mouth...

    I agree with ABC....I would break them in half until he gets the hang of it that way, and then try them whole again.  Parker gagged for a bit at first, but then caught on quickly!

    11/25/2019 - IUI #3 (7.5mg of Letrozole, Trigger + Crinone after IUI) = BFN
    12/24/2019 - IUI #4 (7.5mg of Letrozole + Crinone after IUI) = BFN
    1/24/2020 - IUI #5 (50mg of Clomid + Trigger + Crinone after IUI) = BFN and an Ovarian Cyst
    3/2/2020 - Taking a break to reset/NTNP
    11/1/2020 - At peace with where things are in life and are no long actively TTC. Whatever happens will happen and it will all be okay. <3
