Success after IF

Need some input about RE's

Sorry if this is a repeat.  My RE recently left and I'm not sure if I should just go to the other dr. in the practice or start looking.

1. How did you find your RE?  Was it a dr's referral, friend's recommendation?  Any suggestions on finding one?

2. If you have PCOS do you see your RE even when not ttc?  I had seen mine a couple years back for help losing weight - which I could use help with again - and am wondering if it's appropriate to schedule something with the new RE to discuss managing PCOS and symptoms and getting to a healthier weight before we actively ttc again.  I don't want to look like I'm looking for diet pills again or anything - but am not sure if I should see a nutritionist or just keep trying to do it on my own or if the RE would be best.

Re: Need some input about RE's

  • IMO, asking for recs on various infertility boards -- especially if they relate to your diagnosis -- is the best way to go.  People can give you the inside scoop. Also, you might check out websites that review doctors and even yahoo reviews, etc.&

  • Thanks, that seems to be a familiar tune.  I knew what clinic my gyn/ob would refer me to and had friends that had gone there and said that while their ivf success rate was high - the bedside manner left something to be desired.  I had actually

  • I was referred to mine by my OB. He offered both clinics in town, but I chose the one that a lot of local nesties used for IF treatments. They overwhelming used a different dr at the clinic, but my OB referred me to the principal dr who started it, who
