Recommend your running/jogging shoes please

I'm new to jogging---well, getting BACK in to it --and I was curious what shoes you guys use for running/jogging.  I'd love some recommendations as it's overwhelming!  When I was running yesterday my achilles was hurting so I know I'm in the wrong shoes.

Re: Recommend your running/jogging shoes please

  • You should go to a running store.  Someone there should be able to analyze your gait and recommend shoes for the way you run/walk.  You should also be able to test them out at the store, either on the treadmill or outside before you buy them. &n

The "best" shoes are the ones that are structured for your foot.  I love Asics, and they have a lot of variety, but I really recommend going to a run-specific store (as opposed to a big box sporting goods store) where someone can look at your foot/ru

I agree of course about going to a running/specialty store; however, I want to give a special shout out for Asics. Ran my marathon PR in them and just find them super comfy.

  • I love my brooks minimal shoes. You wear them without socks and they are by far the most comfortable running shoes I have ever owned. I am a light jogger though, not a marathon runner or anything. I've tried a lot of different shoes and these are the best
  • One more vote for a running store!  You'll get the best shoe for your gait and foot type.  Also, you'll support local small businesses, which is always a plus for me.

I have always loved Asics for my marathon and half marathon training.

  • Running store vote :) some even have a return policy where you can bring them back if you don't like them after a few runs. Personally, I am a Brooks Adrenaline fan!
