Runners

I wanted to compare advice from your ob about running.
Mine just said that I could continue to run reasonably with modified effort until I can't see my feet due to the higher likelyhood of trauma to my stomach from a fall and resulting fetal injury or demise.

Eta: I just realized I almost cant see my feet now from my boobs! I don't think that counts :

  • My nurse practitioner said I could keep running until I wasn't comfortable running anymore. I'm not pushing it and I've slowed down. She didn't say when I'd have to stop or tell me to do anything differently.

  • Mine said not to kill myself and if I was making myself uncomfortable to slow down and ease up. She didn't say anything about stopping.

  • Similar to other responses, mine said I could continue running maintaining the same speed and modifying as I listen to my body. Basically said not to focus on getting faster but just maintaining. She said I could run as long as I was comfortable and to li
  • My doc said keep running but to keep my heart rate under 140. I don't really like heart rate monitors that much so I generally just pay attention to my breathing.

  • I haven't ran since I went to my first appointment. My doc said to keep my heart rate below 145 and that is almost impossible even with walking. That is the one thing I really miss is running. I feel like its going to take me forever to get back to where

  • Mine told me I am fine to continue as long as I feel comfortable. I ran up until 36 weeks with DS and will continue as long as I can with this one.

  • I think it depends on your OB and their personal comfort lever with exercise. If they exercise and are aware of the benefits/risks of running while pregnant, their advice is more sound. That being said, I was told by my OB last pg to do what felt good. I

  • Mine told me I shouldn't push myself no sprinting but I can run at a comfortable pace. I'm doing a quarter marathon in May was supposed to be a half but I switched to the half relay and I know I'll probably end up doing a run/walk and not going for any P
