Hot flash, nausea, light headed--what caused it?

Anyone have any insight on what just happened to me?  It hasn't happened before, so if it becomes a regular thing, I will definitely call, and I will mention it to my MW on Friday, but since it was just one time I don't want to overreact.

So I was sitting at my desk.  All of a sudden, I just got hit with a wave of nausea and lots of little burps.  I pulled the trash can over, but thankfully did not need to use it.  Then, I got hit with a massive hot flash--I just felt like my face was burning up and my arms were clammy.  I was also lightheaded and a bit dizzy.  This lasted maybe 3-5 minutes (although it felt like a lot longer) and then my temperature went back to normal and the nausea passed.

I was finally able to move to sit on the floor with my head on the chair for about 20 minutes until the dizziness/light-headedness passed.

My blood pressure has always been fine.  I have had plenty to eat and drink today.

Any ideas?

  • This happened to be yesterday. I consulted Dr. Google (so take this with a grain of salt) and it said it could either be a blood pressure drop or the baby could have moved onto something, blocking blood flow. I'm going to mention it to my Dr. at my app

My BP had been pretty low, but the past 2 appointments was back to "normal" (for me which is about 115/70).
