ferber for naps?

We've implemented ferbers method for bed time and its going pretty well. today is day 3. i've tried doing it for naps too, but ferber says 30 min after the nap time starts if baby is still crying to end that nap and try again at next the one and he'll eventually sleep. it hasn't worked yet. i feel bad and cant deal with a cranky baby all day so we go for a drive.

how did you handle nap time in their crib? 

p.s. he's used to being held for all his naps.

    I don't have any advice for the nap time part, but how is the night time routine going.  Did the 'cry time' get shorter each night?  I can't wait until 4 months to try this myself.  How old is your baby?

    We do Ferber.  I would wait a while before you use it on naps, at least until the baby is completely used to going to sleep on his own at night.

    I'm honestly no help but I'm curious to hear the responses.  We have a HORRIBLE time with naps.  We have yet to successfully nap in the crib (LO is 7 months).  He doesn't even really cry, he just doesn't sleep when I put him down (grante

    We started with naps and then went to bed time - but my baby I'm learning changes over pretty quickly - I read a blog where the gal did it slowly (and was my intention but she took to it really well so we didn't)

    So each day her first nap of the

    DS was held for all naps before Ferber too.

    We did Ferber for bedtime and then waited a month to do naps.

    We extended the window to an hour. When that didn't work, we realized that the check ins were just making him more upset. F

    I don't think 30 minutes is enough time.  I think you need to give them an hour.  And then the trick is for the first two weeks when you are training, not to let them oversleep.  In other words, we follow the clock and cut short a nap if
