colic/infant gas WTF!

LO suffers from really bad infant gas.  Some days I can manage it, other days there is nothing I can do to bring her relief.  Last night Ivy screamed from 10:30pm-1:30am non-stop.  Nothing I did helped her.  It was horrifying to hear her scream in pain.  So I have decided that it is total BS that the medical community has come up with nothing to help our LO with colic/gas.  I mean we can grow body parts using stem cells but we can't figure out a way to help relieve baby gas? Really?  All the remedies they suggest drops, cutting out dairy etc. None of those are proven to be effective.  Not one.  How is it possible that they haven't figured this out yet.  If one more doctor tells me to just wait it out till she is 3 months I am going to scream.  I don't care what they say my baby IS in pain.  I'm pretty sure if men had the babies and took care of them in the early months they would have figured this out long ago. Sorry just needed to vent.

    Have you tried giving her an infant probiotic? There was s good thread on this yesterday, but long story short is that a probiotic stopped my daughter's inability to expel gas.

    We didn't experience quite the level of colic you seem to be having, but DS is a gassy boy.  Mommy's Bliss gripe water has really worked for him in many ways.  It was recommended to me by my cousin whose daughter WAS very colic, too.
