Membrane strip

Does it hurt having your membranes stripped? And what exactly is it that they do?

    I'm a FTM and my ob attempted to strip mine but It was so painful for me...she only stripped a little because I wouldn't let her... I know everyone is different... Or maybe I'm just a big baby! I'm sure you will be fine!

    I had it done with my first for me any exam was kind of painful, but it did not hurt anything more than a regular exam for me and I went into labor at 38 weeks just few days after :

    I thought it hurt a lot.  I wouldn't do it before 40 weeks though (personally, I would wait until 41 weeks/facing an induction).  It won't do anything unless you are already on the verge of going into labor, so why bother?  Baby will c
