Congrats on your lil bro or sis gift?

in 2nd Trimester

So in our area it is traditional for when a friend has there second, third etc child to bring a small gift for the previous child/children as a nice way to congratulate them and help them feel not left out.  Five of our friends are due in the next five months with their second child. Any suggestions on gift ideas?  All kids are about two years old.  $10-$20 ish is the budget. 

 Also what are people (who already have one child) getting their child/children as gifts from the new baby?  (This is common practice in my family). Our dd is two.  Lol...it seems silly but I still remember what my baby brother got me....a new ken Barbie doll.

    We gave DD1 a new doll for the bathtub when I had to be in the hospital to have DD2.  She got "big girl" Megabloks (the middle sized ones, not the big ones but not the tiny piece ones) when we came home from the hospital.  DD1 was 3 when DD2 was

    We're getting my girls baby carriers that are identical to mine (boba). They are 4 and 5 so a bit older.

    Some of the best things we got were craft kits for DD1 when little sister was born. She could do them herself and it was a nice distraction in the winter. It was also easy enought to sit with her at the table while she worked and we could be holding or

    My DD is 10. This Baby will be getting her GC to Justice and prob some nail stuf and maybe a new leo. I'm looking at making a bag for her when she come to visit us in the hospital.

    We did books/card games for our nephews when they became big brothers...gave them something quiet to do/play and made sure they felt special too!

    It depends on how old they are but I'm a huge fan of the Melissa and Doug DYO line. If the kiddo's at all into crafty stuff it's something that will keep them busy for an extended period of time.
