How do I know???

I went to the dr on Friday and he said that I was 50 effaced and 2 cm dilated with 2 weeks to go.Saturday I lost my mucus plug and now I feel like I could be having contractions but I don't know if I'm just making something out of having too much informations. People tell you that you will know when you're having them but I just don't know. My stomach gets ridged but no pain just a little pressure. It has happened two times 30 minutes apart and I just woke up from a nap and felt it again. How do I know if I'm feeling the real thing or if I'm just imagining things and they are really Braxton hicks?

My understanding is that BH are random. Real contractions are timetable and more painful. My DR said to call when they are 5 min apart lasting 45 sec1min for an hour.

Im a FTM so i dont know for sure but my OB and the L and D nurses both said if you can talk or even text DURING a contraction then it's not the real thing. They said BH are uncomfortable and distracting but real contractions overtake you complete

If you are unsure if you are having real contractions, make sure to drink lots of fluids, change positions, take a bath, etc. If after doing all of those things (after an hour or more) and you are still having contractions then they probably aren't
