First Uninvited Belly Rub

I was talking to a coworker at her cubicle and another coworker came over and I swear I saw it in slow motion, lol then she gave me a light tap.  It wasn?t a complete stranger but it was weird...  How does everyone one else handle this?  I have some friends who welcome it and others that wear silly shirts that say things like "don't touch" or "don't even think about it"

Re: First Uninvited Belly Rub

  • Please don't touch my belly without asking or do the exact same thing back.

  • I handle it differently with different people.  Those I'm close to know that I'm not interested in having my belly rubbed.

If it's someone where it's a one-off, for instance, my distant cousin rubbed my belly the other night, but I probably

  • I hate being touched. I literally only let my husband and our boys touch my belly and it was the same with my first pregnancy. I usually nicely ask people not to touch me if I catch them before they do, or ask them not to do it again if they touch me befo

  • My SIL did that to me a few weeks ago...I really wasn't showing and it was VERY uncomfortable! I really wouldn't have had a problem with it if she would have asked!

  • As long as it's someone I know, it doesn't bother me at all. But if some stranger in line at Wal-mart were to rub my belly, now that's weird.
  • I won't mind getting my belly touched but that is just me.

  • In my opinion, there is no point in making a fuss over a one time occurance. If she keeps doing it, I would just politely ask her to stop. A lot of strangers are going to be feeling up your belly between now and when you give birth...you may as well get u

  • I really have a pet peeve about this! Just because I'm growing a baby doesn't give you an open invite to touch ME! Family is one thing, but outside of that I'm kinda sketchy! My friend told me about her going to a gas station & some lady just started
  • I've seen coworkers who hardly know each other touch their tummies. My jaw literally dropped. You didn't put it there, don't touch it. I am dreading this happening to me.

I love the idea of touching someone's stomach back.

  • I started to get the belly rubs a few weeks ago, still in first trimester, and really, just a gas baby. The first rub I got was from my BIL and I felt absolutely violated. I was in absolute shock. Since then, it seems that I can't keep people away from my
