One & Done: Only child

never actually intro'd myself (is it required here?)

I don't know that it is required, but it does seem par for the course that everyone posts an introduction.  I have already participated in a few posts, but what the hell.  I'm a member of the one and done club (obviously...why else would I be here)...I went from never wanting a child to meeting DH, marrying him and deciding I did want a child.  But one is enough.  A child is expensive, exhausting, frustrating at times while at the same time a very rewarding experience.  She is obviously just like Mommy with her short temper, short attention span, attitude, etc.  But she is an all around awesome child.  I do not feel I am depriving her by not giving her a sibling (I had 3, I hated my childhood).  I feel we are able to give her a lot more by not giving her a sibling.

About me:  rapidly approaching 40, work full time plus outside the home and have really transformed into a fitness fanatic over the last year.  DH is on the other side of 40, law enforcement with ambitions of competing in an Iron Man competition.  And we're both sports fanatics.

  • Welcome!  Intros definitely not necessary (I never did at least), but they sure are interesting/fun.

My family is also filled with sports fanatics, especially football and basketball.

  • Yeah, I still haven't posted an intro either... oh well.  I'm not big into posting but rather responding if I feel like I have something to contribute.  I hear you on all of the above... we're still on the fence but I was similar to you, I have
