Help me feel better please!

This evening DH and I made a trip to L &D because I could have swore my water broke. Long story short, I had just used the bathroom at Target and was pulling out of the parking lot when I sneezed.  I felt a pop and about a minute later somehow managed to soak my underwear and pants.  I called the doctor and they had me lay down and then see if I had a gush when I got up an hour later.  I did, so we were told to come in.  We had an awesome staff.  When they did the swab it didn't return results for the typical fluids.  We waited as they did more tests.  Tests finally came back inconclusive as urine, discharge or amniotic fluids.  The doctor suggested I take my temp every couple of hours for the next 24 hrs and if it goes above 104 to come back in because most likely my water.  As a precaution the doctor did an internal exam and I'm barely dilated and my cervix is still pretty hard.

With my due date being about a week away the doctor said he expects LO to be at least a week late at this point.  To make matters worse while he was doing the exam he moved LO's head about so I could feel exactly where it was and that she "wasn't ready" to come out.  She did not like that whatsoever.  I'm already uncomfortable and done with being pregnant.  Now I have a baby who is very upset she got jiggled around and keeps slamming into my cervix/pelvis and causing a lot more pain.

If you have words of encouragement they'd be greatly appreciated.  DH was no help whatsoever on the drive home.

  • I'm so confused! Maybe because I am a FTM but it sounds to me like that had to be your water breaking. What else could it have been if you laid down got up and there was a gush?! I dont know. I do hope the doctors wrong and your LO joins you on the outsid

  • I hope the rest of your pregnancy speeds up! Hang in there!

On a side note, I also am concerned about the 104, like the pp. I work at a hospital and we tell our pregnant patients 100.4. 104 is considered extrem! Even though your doc said 104

  • FWIW my water broke like that and I was not dilated and my cervix was rock hard.  I was past my due date so they induced me.

  • Thanks for the help ladies!  My temp was down today.  I've also gotten over the fact that it's likely we'll go past our due date. The end is near, and two weeks tops before we get to meet her.
