This quiz was posted on the BNB. I thought it would be fun to do it here too. I think it might be cool for Bumpies not from the US as well, to see if you have any similarities in your accent.
81 percent inland north followed by northeast.
I figured I would get something besides the west because I don't drawl as much. Somebody once told me that Utahns sound like watered down southerners.
Not a surprise to me really. Grew up in WA, couple years in SoCal and now live in NorCal. My older sister moved to Texas for a while and her diction teacher used her "flat" accent t

I got 100% The Midland, followed by 88% The South. Sounds about right, for someone who has lived in NC her whole life, but with parents/family with roots in Ohio, Maryland, New York, etc.
Your Result: North Central 89%"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot. <
85% Inland North...which made me laugh because one of the statements says....when you step away from the Great Lakes you are asked "are you from Wisconsin?"
Why, yes, as a matter of fact I am Guess they got it right!
First I was like "what the..!!!" Then I was like, well that makes sense, my parents grew up in Illinois. So, Zonie raised by Midwesterners. I'll take it.
The "dawn" vs. "don" question makes me laugh. Where I live, they are very different...however, my best friend's name is Dawn and when we go on vacation everyone always thinks her name is Don. Hahahahah
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~
My IF blog
100 percent midland! Which I thought was totally weird until I read down to "or you're from one of the big southern cities like Atlanta." Guilty as charged.
I have a "Ghetto Gone Proper" accent. Meaning... I grew up hoodie (south side), and then went all academic and proper. It works out well in my line of work (Im an investigator) some days I need to throw a little neck roll slang...
Re: What American accent do you have?
I got 100% The Inland North.
Followed by 80% The Midlands and 76% The Northeast.
85% North Central, followed by 84% The West.
I live right outside Pittsburgh.
Which makes sense since I was born, raised, and live in so cal.

Weird. Because I have a heavy Southern accent...
"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of sayi
