Anyone not finish the nursery yet?!

We havent even painted!!! We are trying to put our house on the market so we want to wait a few more weeks but I feel so terrible for not having this done already! Hubby doesnt understand how important it is to have a nursery for our LO...its part of the first time pregnancy/motherhood thing right?! Am i being too emotional about it?!!

Re: Anyone not finish the nursery yet?!

  • Settle down, it's not the end of the world. I think there are a lot of us on here, myself included, who don't have the nursery done or even started. We have baby furniture in what will become the nursery but there is still a ton of other junk in there tha

  • He won't have his own room till about the end of this year or at the latest beginning of next year :/ We plan on moving shortly after he's born, so to us it's pointless to get another room ready for him when he can just sleep in our room.

  • We're not really having a nursery.  We're setting up an area but that's nowhere near done.  The baby's sleeping in our room in the beginning so it's not a pressing need IMO.
  • We painted and I am still waiting on the furniture.  I called them today and it is finally off back order and they should be calling me next week to schedule delivery.  I can't wait to get her room done and her clothes put away.

  • We have an "area" in our room. I just put the pack n play together today and hung up 2 pictures on the wall. That's all I have done.

  • Kudos to anyone who does have it done, because we've barely started. My parents came down and put in a new window for us since I knew we would have the time before he's born. My mom and DH's aunt offered to paint it for us so they're doing that April 1315

  • We're in the middle of buying a house so can't do anything until that process gets taken care of. I'm trying not to stress about it as the baby isn't going to know the difference really and will most likely sleep in our room for the first couple months. A

  • We haven't started as yet....we ripped up the floor to re-tile and haven't even started as yet. Hopefully we can finish tiling by the end of next week and then put in cupboards and move forward from there.

  • Our nursery is still a back porch with lots of junk on it.  It will have to be cleaned off, enclosed, & finished before I can even begin the painting, organizing, and decorating.
  • Seriously I just got a coat of primer on the fresh drywall. The room is nowhere near ready.... and we have 10 weeks or less to finish the floor and actually paint as well as strip prime and paint trim and assemble the room...

  • If you're trying to sell your house, I wouldn't worry about it. Honestly, the kid could care less about the room. All baby needs is food, a place to sleep and someone to change his diapers. :)

  • It is fun as a FTM to put the nursery together but it isn't necessary. Considering we are moving in three weeks, no I haven't started getting anything ready for baby! Our new house has the master and two bedrooms on the second floor so baby will be in our
  • We haven't started ours. Well, we evicted DS out of the room but still have to clear it out of what DS doesn't need anymore. It'll get done though.

  • My husband and I and my 11 year old daughter just moved into a 2 bedroom upper at the beginning of this month.  Our "master" bedroom has a walk-in closet that we've converted to a nursery.  We had to put up a poster on a wall to cover up an elec
  • I can certainly understand your deisre to set it up as a FTM, but if your house is going on the market I would hold off.  FWIW, DS' nursery wasn't really complete until the night before I was induced.  And I didn't really start it until after my
  • I totally understand! We are in the process of buying a house and all of my baby stuff is in boxes on the floor. I am so anxious to set up the nursey, but I can't for a while!

  • We've started but still have a lot to do so don't feel too bad!  There is still plenty of time and since you're putting your house on the market, it makes sense not to do anything too crazy paint wise in that room.

  • We haven't even started! DH's cousin is coming over today so we can get a move on. We have to move DS's room first before we can start with the nursery. Just thinking about it stressed me out!

We have the basics, like furniture and an area rug done, but absolutely no decorations yet. My mom bought, is making, or already had most of our nursery decorations, so we are just waiting on her. I think she might be giving them to us at the shower, whic
  • Lets just put it this way. If you were to walk into my apartment right now you would see absolutely no indication whatsoever that we are having a baby in 13ish weeks.
  • ladies...I'm glad to read that i'm not the only one...i was beginning to feel like a bad mom. I guess we all will get there at some point before the babies are due :)

  • We are pretty tight on money right now, so I'm waiting until after the shower to really finish. My mom keeps dropping hints that my grandma got me a bunch of stuff, so we will see. It's super exciting the first time, but I'm in no hurry this time around!
  • I haven't started a nursery or a new room for DD.

  • No you are not being too emotional. Our nursery wasn't done with our first child until after he was born. We didn't have a crib for him until he was 3 months old. He thought i was crazy wanting to start it at 30 weeks last time. i went on bedrest at 32
