A has become awful with this scratching (trying to bite some but more scratching) and I am at my wits end. Tonight I yelled at him and felt awful about it. I was changing his poopy diaper which he didn't want done. So he scratches my hands while I change him and grabs my glasses off my face. First, it hurts. You should see my hands-it looks like I have some sort of animal with all the scratches. Our pedi said to grab his hands and say no scratch mama, you do nice. Then put him down. Obviously I can't do this when I am in the middle of a poopy diaper. He does it to DH too- more to DH than me. But the last few days it has been equal share.
He is teething like crazy and has a low grade fever tonight so he might be getting sick again. So I know that adds to it. But he is scratching whenever he doesn't get his way. I don't know what else to do with him. We are sleeping like crud again, he has been sick basically every week since January, and I am sick again too. Add this increased acting out and it is not a good day.
I have seen posts about biting here but I can't remember if anyone else has a scratcher.

Re: Scratching/biting
About three weeks ago, I could have said the same about the biting. He would bite and laugh when told no. He did it for months and then it just faded away.
hopefully this annoying phase will be short lived! Meanwhile, get some gardening gloves fo
