I tried to search to see if anyone had posted about this recently but didn't find anything.  Is anyone else out there taking Unisom?  I took it in first trimester for MS, so assumed that it was safe, but now I'm reading that it may not be OK in 3rd trimester (something about seizures).  I have been taking a half dose a couple times a week to get some sleep, which I otherwise do not get at all. 

I completely forgot to ask my doctor at my appt yesterday, so am hoping to get some input from you ladies...

    I had an appt today and mentioned lack of sleep to the NP, and she recommended Unisom or Tylenol PM - my doctor also suggested Tylenol PM a while back and I have used it since. Both are class B drugs, so there is no research suggesting that they are harmf

    Thanks gals, I thought it was OK, but Dr Google confused me...  I'll try the tylenol pm, too.  Maybe just 1/2 dose...?

    While I was in the hospital a few weeks ago they gave me ambien to help me sleep. So that's another option as well!


    DS1: 4/15/2011
    Dx: ASD, SPD and receptive and expressive speech delay at 21 months
    BFP #2: CP 5/2012
    DS2: 4/24/2013
    BFP #4: Miscarriage at 5 weeks 7/2014
    BFP #5: 8/8/2014 Due 4/20/2015 
    Its a healthy girl!!!!!

    You can always start with half and see how you do, and bump up if you need more. Good thinking! :)

    I take one pill of Tylenol PM periodically when I need it... As recommended by my OB.

    My OB suggested Benadryl and I took one pill the other night.  It helped a bit but I've managed to pick up a nasty cold so I don't think there's any real chance of restful sleep for me at this point. I got a little over an hour's sleep last night and

    I take one every night. My doc said its totally fine. Without it I don't think I'd sleep at all. My doc reminded me that after baby is born I'll be so tired I won't need it anymore.
