2nd Trimester

17 weeks and reallly freaking tired! Getting me down :(

With my DD I was exhausted all throughout the 1st trimester, I don't remember feeling horrible in the 2nd.

I'm still needing naps in the afternoon and the way mine, DH's and DD's schedules work with our shift work, I tend to have 17-18 hour days just on the go all day,

I'm feeling like a terrible Mum to my toddler needing naps in the afternoon, she doesn't have naps any more and I end up shutting her in my room with me for 30 - 1 hour, she reads books while I sleep.

I don't know if it's different this time because I've got her to consider, but it's getting me really down. I'm starting to doubt myself and abilities how I'll cope with 2 children. DH is concerned because I had some meltdowns with DD when she was young (under 6 months) and he wants her to continue part-time at Day Care. I was thinking of her going around about 6 hours p/week anyway for contact with other kids, but he thinks she'll need to go more. Don't get me wrong he's not being horrible, he's actually just being really supportive and is concerned for my wellbeing.

Any gems of advice? Anyone else feel this way sometimes?

  • Oh hon! You'll feel better after the birth, eventually! :. I'd say take as much help and support you can findalso stick with the daycare, like you said to give you a break and her some fun. These are all phases and the kids will get easier.

  • I'm 19 weeks and still tired. I work part time, but the job can be demanding and stressful and have a toddler. I'm so lucky that my toddler still take naps. I dunno what I would do if she didn't. Stay strong! And never be afraid to ask for help.
