Babies: 0 - 3 Months

how long to get your PP emotions under control?

So I'm crying a lot, all of the time to anyone that will listen! I'm fairly certain it's just me being emotional/hormonal and that it will even out soon (I already feel better than last week). I physically feel fine, I am eating, getting dressed every day and I don't feel like anyone's in any danger =)

How long did it take for your emotions to even out after you had your LO?

  • For me it was about the 2.5 to 3 week pp mark. I have had a successful week of feeling like my old self again. I know it sucks but just hang in there!

  • 2 weeks. Babywearing helped a lot, along with taking nightly walks with my husband and LO

I was told 2-3 weeks is typical - we ALL had a crazy hormone shift after giving birth.  It should

  • exactly! everyone acts like it's so easy, especially when you see freinds on facebook and whatnot.  However, I definitely had a tough time, it was a good 3 weeks of constant, holy *** can I do this, especially considering I'm already an anxiety ri

  • I'd say I was pretty much back to normal by 3 or 4 weeks. The first 3 weeks are so hard...such an emotional and hormonal time. Just try to sleep as much as you can (even though its hard), talk to your family and friends, snuggle your baby, and do somethin

I wasn't super emotional, but physically the hormones took a toll on me. At 1 week I had a 103 temp for 2 days and then night sweats for another week. It was like I was going through menopause. Everything gets easier though.

  • The worst is the first month.  Then it gradually gets better.  But DS is 3 years old and I feel that my hormones are STILL not back to what they were before getting pregnant.  So my final answer = never.

  • 2 weeks crying stopped and by 4 weeks felt completely myself again. It gets better!
