Gymboree or The Little Gym?

Have any of you second (or third, or fourth) time moms been to classes at Gymboree, The Little Gym, or other similar places? Good experience/recommended, or not so much? I'm thinking it will be a good option for LO, and since I work from home (and will continue to after maternity leave) would like an excuse to get out of the house during the day. But, as a FTM I don't know much about the classes or either place.

Re: Gymboree or The Little Gym?

  • No idea about little gym, but check out your local library, mine have always had story time and stuff that's nice to get out and do.

  • We always liked Little Gym. Although it is pricey.  Depending on where you live there are plenty of things to do with your LO.

most libraries have story time for all ages, our town rec does an open gym playtime on Tuesdays. We were pa

  • We have done both. Personally, I thought Gymboree was good for 12 months +. The Little Gym was more gymnastics oriented, and I felt like it was better for more like 2+. Gymboree had a lot of climbing equipment, slides, just things baby could explore..

  • Thanks all! I hadn't thought of the library or Barnes & Noble story time - that's a great idea. We'll probably look into that at first, and then maybe try a free trial class at The Little Gym once he/she is a bit older.
  • There is also my gym as well...

I would do a trial class.  My kids hated little gym, but had a better experience at Gymboree.
