Nervous about a quick labor

Anyone else? I shouldn't be too nervous because my first was 28 hours long but my daughter was also in a bad position so I don't really have a time frame for a "normal" labor. My husband works an hour and a half away from our house and the hospital is an hour away from our house. That means that aside from bringing my daughter to the sitters we have a 2.5 hour wait before the hospital. I've been having a lot of contractions this time around so I'm afraid I won't know that it's "go time" when it actually is. All of these quick birth stories lately have me nervous!

Re: Nervous about a quick labor

  • Absolutely nervous about it. My first labor and delivery went really fast and they say that the second goes even faster. We are supposed to go to Easter brunch at my mom's on Sunday but my husband is really worried that we will be too far from the hospit

  • I'm not... FTM so I have no idea what to expect and would rather get it over with as fast as possible. It's the stories like yours (28 hours??) that scare me more, lol.
  • DD1 was a 22 hour process, DD2 was only 7, so I know what you mean. But I have a crazy fear that my water is going to break on some one elses couch, while I am visiting. It makes me nervous to go anywhere. Or in our new van. Or at church. It is driving me

  • Count me in! I was in labor with DS for over 46 hours but with DD my water broke in the middle of the night and she arrived a couple of hours later....they barely got all of the antibiotics in since I was GBS+. My OB unintentionally exacerbated my anxiety

  • I hear ya! Getting very, very nervous about it. I just found out that both of my mom's labors and all 3 of my grandmother's were around 4 hours long! All of them! WTF...Apparently we have very high pain tolerance in my family and my

  • Yes!  Only be ause of the stories I keep reading about!  Dd was a steady 14 hours or so, with plenty of warning. Hope this one comes a little faster, but I still want time for an epi!

  • I'm very nervous about this. My labor with DD was 8 hours from the time I woke up feeling a little crampy, to the time she was born. I felt like that was insanely fast and this one is supposed to be faster? Yikes!
