charley horse

Yeek! So two nights ago I got woken up with charley horses in both my legs (about an hour apart) I have greatly upped my water intake in case that is why. So yesterday all day my one leg hurt so bad.  Well I didn't have a charley horse last night, thank god, but when I move my one leg it is still so sore. I can barely walk on it.  Coming down the stairs this morning was fairly miserable.  Is there any way I can work the pain out? LOL I took a bath yesterday, used a heating pad, and am constantly streching it out, I feel like a nut.

Ahhh the joys of pregnancy, thank goodness we get a prize at the end of this journey. LMAO

  • Because it's your muscle - massage it for a little bit a few times a day. Also, keep up with the water. :) My calf is always sore after those monsters!

  • My Mayo Clinic for Pregnancy book recommends standing on a cold surface barefoot and leaning against a wall - so you are basically stretching your calf muscle and Achilles tendon.

It says that if cold stretching doesn't help, heat

  • I've been getting them pretty bad as well. Check your prentals for how much potassium is in them. I always heard that if you were low in potassium you'd get charley horses. I've been eating a banana a day and that seems to help.

    Also, I don;t kno

  • I had a heinous calf cramp in the middle of the night two days ago and I can still feel it in the muscle.  Another suggestion for prevention is a calcium-magnesium supplement.  I drink a liquid variety every night.  I've only had one really

  • Because I had no idea this was possible, you can also get a Charley Horse in your pelvis. It happened to me about 2 weeks ago. Scared the crap out of me and I went to get checked out the next day. Sure enough, it was a Charley Horse. My OB said that it c
