Smiles

When did your LO first smile at you? We are approaching 8weeks and I haven't seen a real smile yet. Anyone else!? I'm getting worried

Re: Smiles

  • DD started doing "real" smiles at 5 weeks, but very sporadically. I have also heard that many babies don't socially smile until later (I'm not sure what exactly the normal range is, but I sort of think 5 weeks was early).

DS will be 7 weeks on sunday and I would say around 5.5 weeks he started smiling. Who knows if its just gas tho! I would not worry-every baby develops so differently. They are still so little-even 8 weeks.
  • DD started socially smiling at 5 weeks but they were few and far between. This week she's been smiling like crazy! Looking forward to her first giggles now. Well, her first awake giggles, anyway!

  • LO will be 6 weeks on Sat and has been smiling as a response now for the last 2 weeks. This is definitely not gas. We've been gently playing with her and the first week she occasionally would smile for us and we thought it was a coincidence, but woul

  • The first real smile was at 5 weeks and it was for the cat. At first I thought it was just a fluke but over the next couple days she did it again two more times. Now I get smiles too!

  • My DD has been socially smiling for probably 2 weeks. She's 7 weeks. Today was the first time I got her to smile in response to play with me. Gosh our LO's are getting big already. I can't believe it's been almost 2 months.

  • DS will be 8 weeks on Monday and we have been getting grins for the last 2-3 weeks. He is starting to really smile, but they are far and few between. DH got a good one tonight and I got one yesterday.

  • She started smiling when she was about a week old (not intentionally, obviously). We would respond really positively every time, so she kept doing it more and more. For the past 2 weeks or so (she is 7 weeks now), she has been smiling like crazy (and inte
