Baby shower dates

I am due August. 23rd. We are discussing having my baby shower June 2nd. My mother thinks that's too early. I only have about 4 other weekends between that and due date available and let's face it....summers are busy and hot. I would rather do it sooner than later especially since 2 of those weekends are in August....god forbid if baby cones early. Thoughts? I know 8 months is common.

Honestly I say earlier is better. Find a date in mid June that works for you and your host.

I'm due August 18th and my shower is June 22nd. We wanted the Saturday before- the 15th b/c that's my birthday but that's Father's day weekend. I say earlier is better too. As long as it's not suuuper early.

I don't think that's too early. My mom is going to have mine when I'm just over 28 weeks. It's a little early, but it's when we could get it to work out. Plus, she is 3 hours away, and my doc wants me to stop traveling at that point. I like early because

it is a bit early, but early is good because you can get things done easier when you aren't all big and uncomfortable. I had my baby shower at 33 weeks with DD#1

Too early = before the stick has been peed upon.

Honestly, the main attraction of having it later is a bigger bump for everyone to see and rub and take pictures of.

Earlier is better, you have more time to clean and fold cloth

I don't think it's too early at all. I actually have the opposite problem - due to a very busy summer for us and all of our family, we couldn't do my shower until I am almost 36 weeks which has me a bit worried! I'd much rather be in your position : ) <br

Not too early. Mine is coming up here shortly, and I will be almost 27 weeks. I have to travel a good distance, and would prefer to make the drive now than when I am 8 months pregnant and cranky because of the heat.

I don't think that is a big deal. Honestly, I would rather have them early than later. I am going to have 3 to 4 showers, with different families, and I cannot imagine doing them all around the same time.
