Baby Carrier Suggestions?

I am trying to figure out which baby carrier is the best.  I am looking for something easy to use and hopefully where a baby can fit facing in, out, or possibly on the back.  Does anyone know of a good one?

  • I had an Ergo with DS and loved everything about it except that you need an insert or blankets for small infants, and that if you have them in front, they're facing in.  It was very easy to get on/off, though, and we were easily able to use it unt

  • I rented the Ergo, Beco Gemini and Beco Butterfly II with my last baby. I decided on the Gemini because of the support it offered to the baby, and it was the most comfortable for me. But finding the right carrier for you really is a personal decision. Wha

I went to a local store that let me try on each of the carriers with DD.  It made a big difference!

  • Facing out generally doesn't allowing for good positioning of baby.

  • I'm a FTM, but after ridiculous amounts of research on these, I'm going with the Beco Gemini. I like that we can use it with an infant without any inserts and that it appears to stay comfortable even when worn for long periods of time.

  • Good brands if you want a buckle carrier: Ergo, Boba, Beco

Bad designs: Bjorn, Snuggli, etc. where baby has legs down/together. Most carriers that allow forward facing aren't ergonomic for parent or baby.

I have an Ergo Sport, a ring sling,

  • Thanks for all the help, Ladies.  I definitely need to do a bit more research.  I have Babies R Us near me; hopefully they will let me try on a few.
  • I love the ktan but it doesn't go on the back! I also like the Mei tai though which can go on the back!
