swollen vaginal lips?

Maybe TMI but I just took a mirror to "look" at myself down there considering I cannot see over my big bump and was shocked to see that the inner part of my vaginal lips look a little swollen and purple. I'm not overly panicked as I will ask my OB next week at my appt but sometimes I feel a little itchy (nothing consistent) and sore. Anyone else deal with this? I can't remember if I had this with my DD. 
Married my BEST FRIEND on December 1, 2007. Started TTC in March 2008. Found out we were expecting our first child in October 2008 - but had a m/c in December 2008 - resulting in a d&e.     Mine is definitely appears bigger or swollen, but not uncomfortable. But not itchy or different color.

    Yup - I have some complications but my vaginal walls are actually swelling so much they protrude - basically my vag is falling out...

    So far it's not very consistent, but I definitely notice swelling/darker coloration intermittently.  Well, as in, when DH points it out to me.  Not itchy though - if you have itching issues, you might want to put in a call to your OB.<sp

    Definitely going to mention it to OB next week. It's not so much itchy - I guess it's more dry and so I "scratch" and then its annoying for a little bit and then stops. So annoying!

    Mine tends to get swollen if I sit for a really long time. Its all the blood, it's gotta go somewhere. Mine doesn't change color, I don't think anyways.... I can't exactly see down there anymore these days.

    I have labial variscosities which causes a lot of pain. Sometimes it's so sore it burns if anything (even my underwear) touches it, but my husband says it looks the same. I would contact your doctor about the discoloration and itchy-ness. Good luck!

    I did take a look at around 30 weeks cause I was having some pain/pressure and was traumatized by the amount of inner swelling and dark color.  But i was assured it is all totally normal.
    TTC since May of 2011. DX PCOS July 2012 SA: morphology 1% motility 47%. U/S 8-20= 3 mature follicles: 56mil sperm after wash IUI #1 + 100mg of clomid + tigger=BFP 9/4 bloodwork hcg 156 progesterone 40BabyFetus Ticker My Blog
