Baby Showers

Amazon Registry?

Greetings!  I am expecting my first child this August and was wondering if anyone has have registered for their baby shower on Amazon.com?  I already started a registry at BRU, and was thinking of using Amazon as a back up.  You can find stuff so much cheaper on there and it has some brands I was looking for that I couldn't find at BRU.

I suppose I'm wondering if people would actually use it and buy stuff off the site, or if I could be possibly shooting myself in the foot by not getting some things I may really need.

All opinions are appreciated!  Thanks!

Re: Amazon Registry?

  • my most popular registry is my amazon.com baby registry, I love it because you can add items from any website

  • We have both an Amazon and a BRU registry, you can find a lot of the same stuff on both, but Amazon has better prices. Some of our family members prefer to go in store to shop, and others prefer to shop online, so I think having both is a good idea.

  • Personally, I love Amazon, but if you have older guests who might not be computer savvy or if your guest list has a lot of last-minute shoppers, you might want to have a back-up registry at a local store.

I got quite a few gifts off my amazon registry, eventhough Target was the popular one.

  • Just something to keep in mind that isn't really related to your question...I'm not sure when your baby shower will be, but I did my registry with BRU about 6 weeks before my shower (about 2 weeks before invitations went out). My shower is just over a wee

  • I am registered on amazon and only amazon. So far, people have been buying things. From my experience now in days most people are pretty okay with buying online. The others just won't use your registry, which is why it's just a suggestion anway.

  • I registered at Amazon too. Haven't had the shower yet so I can't speak to success but I just wanted to point out that the completion discount is only for items sold by Amazon (there are many other sellers that use amazon but aren't officially sent/shippe
  • I LOVE my Amazon registry.  It also has the universal registry, which has allowed me to put on a few things (like some onesies from thinkgeek and some things from etsy) that I wouldn't ordinarily be able to register for.  I also have a Target re

  • IMO, i wouldn't use it. I like physically going out and buying stuff. My family is traditional like that as well, and i'm registered at BRU and Target.

maybe you could have the majority of stuff on your BRU, and maybe a few things like a bo

  • I did! I had both BRU and amazon. I only told family about amazon though.

They have cuter stuff like dr Seuss bibs and things of that nature!
