Trouble TTC

Varicella Vaccine Administered and Possibly Pregnant

After 14 months of TTC, my husband and I went to an infertility specialist. After 3 months of testing, we found out that we will have to do the Clomid/IUI combo in order to conceive. Prior to starting this, according to my bloodwork, they told me that I am not immune against chickenpox, even though I received 2 doses of the vaccine back in 1996. They gave me my first dose of the varicella vaccine a month ago and advised me to wait 2-3 months to get pregnant. As devastating as it was, it was better to be safe than sorry so we agreed to get the vaccine administered almost 4 weeks ago. My husband and I had intercourse only twice this month making sure it wasn't timed around ovulation and he made sure to 'pull out.' Now, I'm 3 days late. I'm never late. I've had exactly 22 day cycles for the last 2 years since I got off the pill. Could I be pregnant? Could the vaccine have prolonged my cycle? What do I do if I'm pregnant with this live virus? Has this ever happened to anyone?

Have you tested?  If you're indeed 3 days late, the HPT would be positive. If it's negative, you most likely ovulated late.

I used to always have 28 day cycles (for 2 yrs confirmed by charting and then randomly changed to 26 day cycles and

  • 1. If your doctor advised waiting 2-3 months before TTC, then you should probably use a better method of BC than the "pull and pray" method.

    2.  Could you be pregnant? Sure, you had unprotected sex and don't know when you ovulated.&nbsp

  • I know this was a 'dumb' move on our end. Honestly, we were told we couldn't conceive "naturally" and didn't think we could have possibly conceive via coitus interruptus (which was only twice this month-once in the beginning the month and then right be
