child support question

So last Thursday we had a modification hearing for child support.  It has been held for two months because when he went in to request modification they told him they will hold it until the hearing, they called me and I said sure. Unfortunatly exh got picked up for a probation violation a week after that and they rescheduled the hearing for last week so he could attend.   I spoke to a woman from the Domestics office yesterday and she apologized because the only notes she sees say pending.

I don't need the money, we provide my son with all insurance and pay everything for him.  But truthfully waiting on a ruling is driving me nuts.  He dosen't see his son and hasn't asked to for more than a year. In the hearing he kept lying to the moderator and she would correct him with the right information, then he would get angry and say "I shouldn't have to do anything" (that was said three times by him)

So in your state/county how long does it take for a ruling to be made?  I know it is a silly question its just that waiting is taking forever. (well it seems like it lol) In our last county (had to be changed because he moved and in order to "track" him they needed to be in the right county arrears were over 5000 at that point) the ruling was made the same day. LOL

Even our visitation with my step daughter was ruled on faster!  So I think thats why I feel like its taking forever.

  • That stinks.  My lawyer tried to reach out to exh but he was not willing to settle outside of court.  Although he made the comment to my lawyer on the way out that after a ruling is made he "expects" me to go back in and lower it like I did befo

  • In our case we were the ones who would be paying BM so she was eager to jump at the amount that was granted to her. I actually wrote out all the math equations and explanations for every calculation and there really wasn't anything to argue with. We ev

In DH's case, it was ruled the same day.  The magistrate used an Excel spreadsheet, filled in all the financial info and done.  New amounts were entered into the minutes and the order was signed within a week.  DH knew the new amount and wa
