Bouncer or swing?

Hi ladies. FTM here, wondering if you recommend getting a bouncer or a swing (or both, or neither). Money isn't an issue, but I don't want to buy a bunch of extra stuff that I don't really need.

What are your suggestions? Any specific brands/styles? Thank you!

  • I got a swing and bouncer hand me down and I am so glad I didn't pay for either! I was so convinced they were musts but my LO doesn't like the swing and will sit in the bouncer for a minute while I do things but doesn't care for it. She loves her RnP thou

  • I only got a swing. Different babies like different things, but I'm really glad to have the swing. We started with a Graco but ended up with the Snugabunny swing. It's great.

You don't have to get a bouncer IMO, but if you don't then I stron
  • DS1 loved the swing, hated the bouncy. Kept both and now DS2 likes the swing and loves the bouncy seat.

Point is each kids different. I love having both right now though. Something different to move the baby to when he gets bored.  </p

  • We have the Snugabunny swing, a Comfort Harmony portable swing, and a Fisher Price rainforest bouncer (we have twins). ALL of them come in handy. The Snugabunny is DS's favorite place to be when we are eating, and it is the only thing that will soothe

  • We have the Snugabunny swing and bouncer, and DS loved them both. The swing was great in our living room for the first six months and DS napped in it when my mom watched him during the week. We kept the bouncer in our office or took it to MIL's, and DS

DS loved both and they were must-haves for our LO. Swing stayed in the living room, but it was nice to carry the bouncer to the bathroom, kitchen, etc. We have the Fisher Price Starlight Papasan swing and a Bright Starts bouncer. Love them both!

  • We bought a swing at a garage sale. It was a fisher price lamb cradle and swing. My LO loved it! It was the only thing he would sleep in for 2 months so it was a life saver! I haven't tried a bouncer, but as much as he likes to move, I'm sure he would hav

  • I would say a simple bouncer is more important. It gives you the ability to set the baby down. (ie: put the baby in the bouncer and set it next to the tub while you shower, put the baby in the bouncer near you while you cook, etc.)I found my little one

  • I have both.  DD will sit in her FP bouncer (with the monkey on it) for long periods of time and I can carry it into the bathroom so I can shower.  She's not as fond of the swing though and doesn't like to be in there for long periods of time.&n
