I want to do a gathering/party to reveal the sex of the baby.. its not going to be a big one, just family and a few friends. Has anyone here done it? how did you go about it?!!
Some ideas would be a bee themed party where it's black and yellow and you have a cake that says :what will it bee?: with blue or pink as the color of the inside of the cake.
Others would be putting balloons in a box and opening it to reveal

They are really AW-ish, honestly. Having a baby doesn't entitle you to have parties at your every whim. Your child's genitalia is even less of a reason to do so. Furthermore, what would you do if you went for your anatomy scan and LO didn't show the goods
I think they're so cute! I've never done one (#3 on the way), but I love when people do. It's not like you're asking for gifts. You're just sharing and celebrating an important moment.
@mabenner1 - let me REPHRASE the "gathering/party".. its the parents in law, my two best friends and a couple of cousins who are dying to know.. this is nothing TOO BIG and make it more EXCITING and UNIQUE way to announce the gender of the baby..
This is so ridiculous, it's not like she is going to have a full blown huge party, some colored cake isn't some extravagant thing, I think it's a really cute idea to reveal the sex of the baby this way. I have lots of people in my life that are dying t
I'm totally doing a "sex party" I was all for it. Then I started reading the posts from people on the boards and started second guessing myself. But after I asked a few friends (male and female) they said it sounds like fun and they'd totally

I'm probably going to have some kind of gender reveal thing. After all my struggles to get pregnant, its something that all of my friends and family know and would love to celebrate with me to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. With my co-workers,
Some people do photoshoots and take out the pictures to show everyone too!

My friends and family would be like, "really a party? You couldn't just call?". I don't mind a cute Facebook announcement, but I also tend to agree that a party is a bit AWish.
I've only been to one and it was tacky. The worst part was that she handed out cupcakes to everyone, told everyone not to eat it yet then made each one of us discuss why we thought she was having a girl or boy. Then she did all the testing for "Old Wiv
I agree!! Who cares what "others" say!! They dont have to join your party if they dont want to. If you want to have a gender reveal party, go for it!! I thi

It's a great idea! You can ask your u/s tech to put the sex in an envelope and from there you bring it to your local bakery. They will make a cake with pink or blue inside. What I love about this is NOBODY knows not even the parents. The
