Sippy cup...

This sippy cup transition is getting the best of me! We cut out all bottles except for 2: one before Tenley's nap and one before bedtime. Well, I swear she just waits all day for those two bottles. She barely takes more than a sip out of her sippy cup... no matter which kind we use! How did (or are) you all transitioning? Some people say cold turkey and some say to switch one bottle to a cup per day. What are your thoughts? Thanks ladies!

  • Have you tried straw cups? We started him with the Zoli cup and just the act of drinking out of a bottle, I think, better prepared him to drink out of a sippy. We also primarily use the Nuk soft silicone spout cups and that made the transition when we sto

  • I started sending the sippy cup to DC with water in it and asked them to offer it to her periodically (still sent bottles for milk) around the 10 month mark.  Then, about two-three weeks ago I forgot to put a bottle in the lunch bag and the DC tea

  • We use a straw cup.  DD would drink out the that no prob when it had water in it, but not milk.  Talked to the pedi and she said some babies do hold out if they know that nice, comforting bottle is coming.  So, we packed up the bottles and

  • We went cold turkey. I said "sink or swim kid, bottles are for babies and you're a big boy" one morning a week before his 1st birthday and he decided to swim :) We also use the Zoli straw cups for milk, and just use sippy cups for water.
