Pains in ovary area?

Hi,

I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant and I've been getting this pain in the lower left side, sort of like an ovulation pain but some times it is sharp and fleeting. I had an ultrasound last week and the OBGYN saw a corpus luteum. Could this be causing the pain? It's not all the time and only last for a few seconds.I have no bleeding or cramping. I called OBGYN and they want me to come in today for bloodwork and moved an U/S up to Monday (was originally scheduled Friday).

 Normal? Should I be concerned?

Re: Pains in ovary area?

  • I started having similar pains (similar to O pains) today. I am just assuming its normal

  • It's normal. All normal first trimester sonograms have the cysts on the ovaries which occasionally causes the pain! You're good to go!

  • Thanks everyone. Just had blood work to check HCG levels and made an appointment for u/s on Monday. The doctor said it could be just normal but wants to be sure. The blood work won't come back till Monday too because the office is closed tomorrow.....ugh
  • Just wait all you organs are going to move in order to make room for baby some will cramp some will pull some you won't realize they moved til post baby when they all start moving back into place....which is one of the weirdest sensations ever!!
  • When I was pregnant with my DD I kept having shooting pains on the side with the cyst.  Especially if I sneezed! It was always in the same spot so I'm assuming it was the ovary.
