Anyone else take Nitrofur-Macr 100mg for a UTI?

    I don't like the med myself. Not safe in the last few wks on pregnancy 3842 wk. I'd rather a penicillin based like Amox or a cephlosporin like Keflex. But the important thing is to treat the infection. You have a greater risk of pyelonephritis kidney infe

    I took macrobid for a UTI about three weeks ago and it didn't clear up. I now have a kidney infection and Keflex is kicking its butt.

    I did earlier.  I have never been so sick or felt so bad.  I emailed my doctor and said I never want to take it ever again.

    I haven't.  I just had a UTI and took Keflex.  Hope it clears up quickly for you....They are the WORST!

    I took this! At first it was hard to take because my morning sickness was so bad and I couldn't keep food down to take the pill, but once I could, I started taking the pill and it flushed everything out of my system after a couple days!
