Hard to grasp concept that labor could start at any moment out of the blue

So I'm 39w1d, FTM, and it's just such a difficult concept to grasp that like labor could start at any moment, on any day. I keep feeling like it should be like getting a cold, where you kinda feel a scratchy throat, or worn down, and you say, "Oh, wow, I'm getting a cold." So then every day that I wake up and feel no labor-y symptoms, I feel like, "Nope, won't be today!" even though I know labor can start suddenly, and out of the blue. I just really can't fathom that. Any one else feel that way/have felt that way until it happened to them?

It is the opposite for me! With having so many episodes of false labor I am having a hard time believing that it is NOT the real thing with every symptom. I fear that I won't know when it is real labor and my baby will be born at home because I don't want

Lol. Its true. As a ftm I was expecting, and everyone kept telling me to expect, to feeling strange and knowing that you were going into labor.

I'm feeling that way now too! I keep saying that, "nah, not this weekend, I'm just not feeling it!" lol but it is crazy to think it can really happen any time now...it's going to be so surreal when it really is time!
