Motherhood can be scary

When I was pregnant all my friends with kids kept telling me, "Once your baby is born you will NEVER stop worrying". Well, I know how right they were now. Yesterday Caleb was sleeping soundly and all of sudden I heard him choking. I literally dropped what I was doing (I was washing dishes and literally dropped them and broke them) and ran into his room. I picked him up and he was spitting up a little and choked on it. He was fine. Though I can't say the same for me. I was traumatized and now I want him in my range of sight the whole time he's sleeping because I'm paranoid it will happen again.

Anyone else have scary Mommy moments you'd like to share so I don't feel like such a spaz? Tongue Tied

  • If DD sleeps longer than I'm expecting her to, I always go in just to make sure she's breathing. This morning she slept pretty late so I went in. She had broken out of her swaddle bag and had half of it over her face. I spazzed and threw it off of her. Th

  • Absolutely! When Elliott was born, he didn't breathe very well on his own immediately.  He just had a lot of mucas, but it caused him to gag and choke several times while we were in the hospital.  I was so afraid of him choking and that I wou

  • I gave DD a bath and maybe an hour and a half later I took her with me in the moby to the bank across the street.

About an hour after we got back, she coughed! I thought maybe she just need to clear her throat and she coughed again!

  • I called 911 the first night home from the hospital because LO started choking and stopped breathing for like 10 seconds.  I still wonder if I overreacted.  The EMTs were really nice, but I bet they were rolling their eye at the hysterical new m
  • My kid rolls over by himself, consistently.  Before I knew this, I put him on the couch for a minute, walked off, and found him on the floor.  Cue hysterical sobbing from the mommy when I realized my 3 week old baby had fallen off the couch.&

  • Now that DS has hit 2 months, I don't think I will be getting any sleep. Not that I am getting a ton now.  Two to four months is the highest risk age for SIDS, and I am paranoid about it. We follow all the guidelines to keep him safe, but I still obs
