exercise with tear?

I was very active during my pregnancy, doing lots of yoga, walking and even keeping up with some p90x workouts the week before I gave birth. I'm 3 weeks PP and I'm really looking forward to getting back into running and I was thinking I would do tracy anderson's video along with yoga.  However, I had a second degree tear.  It feels fine now, no pain and I know technically I'm supposed to wait 6 weeks... but I was hoping to get started sooner than that.  Any advice on exercising with a 2nd degree tear?  When?  What?  How much?

  • I would wait until you get the all clear form the ob/gyn.  The last thing you want to deal with is a complication from overdoing it.  I had a 3rd degree tear and was cleared at 5 wks for everything.  My OB was willing to see me as early as

  • You should wait until you get the all clear. Stick to walking and yoga until then. Call your OB and see if you can get in earlier, but tearing takes longer to heal than you think.
