I am offended! I know this house is a work in progress, but I offered twice to host Easter! My MIL and I agreed my H and I would host; all was well and preparation had begun! now I was told different! My MIL is hosting! That is two weekends of plans out the door!!! GRRRRR!

How would you react to this? Feel free to slap me around a little and tell me there are worse things in the world!

    But yes, I would be annoyed as well.  There's a lot of planning that goes into hosting, and I'd be irritated that it was taken away from me.

    I would be really upset that it was a last minute change when I had already started planning and preparing for it. 

    Did she say why she decided to host it instead?

    I would be annoyed at the change.

    I agree with the others, you can host a dinner in a few weeks if you want.  And with dinner being so short you will still have plenty of time to celebrate in a way this is fun for all of you.

    We have unspoken rules about which generation hosts which events.  *eyeroll* I think some parents just have a really hard time passing the torch and let the next generation start to take over.
