We're invited to our friends' son's 2nd birthday party this weekend, and I don't really know what I should get for a gift. We're not super close friends with them, and really only see them at occasions like this (someone's birthday, graduation parties, cookouts, stuff where our whole group of friends get together - we never hang out with just them). If not for them having this birthday party and inviting everyone, I otherwise wouldn't think to get him a birthday gift.
I was thinking maybe a Barnes & Noble gift card, or maybe a few books? Or, would it be lame to make him one of those fleece blankets (that's sort of my go-to gift lately)? Anyone have other good ideas? Or suggestions for particular books? He's really into trains, and it's a train theme party.
Thanks!
