Success after IF

XP from IF/PAIF boards

Hello, trying to connect with others...

Background: I'm 40, unexplained IF - FSH 7.06, AFC 10, Estrogen 23.3 (CD3); DH is 34 and perfect.  Our first child was the product of 3 rounds of Clomid and we got lucky.  We are now trying for #2, started when DD turned 1 and revisited the RE after 4 months of trying.  Have completed 3 rounds of Clomid without success and took a month off to get things in order.

I am CD9 today and did my trigger shot last night.  On Monday (CD7), I had 1 follie at 17mm and my E2 was "good."  I got so caught up in the trigger and IUI details, I forgot to ask the actual number. :(

Can someone tell me what to expect at the IUI?  How about after?  Does anyone know 1st IUI success rates?  I tried google, but not much luck on my research.  Maybe I don't know how to phrase it.  SART was no help, I guess that's just for IVF.

Thanks for any advice.  Good luck to us all!

Re: XP from IF/PAIF boards

  • It's been a few years, but from what I remember the IUI itself wasn't scary or painful or anything like that.  DH had the hardest job :).  As I recall I was in an exam room, they inserted a small tube (probably not the medical term) and injec

  • Like PP said, it's a pretty simple procedure. Pain similar to a pap. I had some mild period like cramping after. I also took it easy that day, but only bc I wanted to, not bc I was told to. However my RE always told me to act pregnant from then until my b

  • I don't have any info on statistics for success on IUI. I guess it just depends. As far as the procedure. Piece of cake! About as uncomfortable as a pap and even quicker. Good luck!

  • We are also unexplained. The success rate for Clomid + IUI that we were given was around 8-10% I think. The IUI itself is very easy. It feels a lot like a pap. After the IUI you just lay there for about 15 minutes and then you are good to go. GL!
