Parenting after a Loss

Interesting day from an AL perspective

There's this woman at my work whose baby's EDD was a week before my loss EDD. She had her baby a month early, which is a little over a year ago. I really had a hard time dealing with seeing her pregnant as you all know what that is like. During that time, I avoided her and refused to acknowledge that pregnancy. I would cringe every time I saw her and the other woman whose EDD was a couple weeks after hers. She didn't and still doesn't know about the loss... we aren't close or anything. Sometimes I think about the fact I could have had a LO about the same age as hers. I have moved on from that... having DD helped. I wouldn't give her up for anything in the universe.

Anyway, I ran into her at work today and lo and behold, she's got a baby bump again. I did congratulate her and chatted with her a bit about it. I have been thinking about the whole thing since I got home from work and I keep thinking what a huge difference in emotions and reactions from a year ago. I do not know what I would have done if I continued to have trouble TTCing....probably just have a total breakdown. Geez.

Even after almost three years, I sometimes get pangs of jealousy when I see someone who is pg.  One of my close friends is currently pg and her EDD is the same day as my angel's.  You're right, having the LO does help but it doesn't make the lon

  • I totally get it. In all honesty, I am still jealous of friends who become pg now even after I've had DD. Especially the ones I know who weren't TTC. I worry too much about the future and wonder how hard of a time I'm going to have getting pg again when t

  • I completely get that.  I have a co-worker here who had his son a week after Ace was born.  He spoke with a friend of mine and told her that he felt so bad for me and didn't know what to do when he saw me and for the longest time he avoided me l
