Fever with teething?

My LO has his two bottom front teeth coming in at the same time right now. Over the weekend he had a fever of 104.1 so we took him to the doctor to rule out sickness and ear infection. Sure enough he has a double ear infection. His fever went away Monday and Tuesday and now is back early this morning at 103.8 . Now I am wondering if it could be a fever with teething that I know can happen but I thought those are usually low grade fevers? Anyone have insight about this? I am going to call the nurses line when my doctor opens to ask because he had a fever, it went away and now its back so quickly. Just seems strange to be back so quickly.

Teething fevers tend to be 101 or 102 any higher I tend to think is more than teeth. Is lo on amoxicillin for the first time? Some kids who are slightly alergic or sensitive to it spike fevers a few days on it. I'd call your dr and ask what they think an

I don't think it's teething. The temp is usually much lower. Mostly likely still the ear infection. They may need to switch antibiotics.

Thanks girls. The pedi said it's most likely a viral infection on top of his ear infection and the fever could last 4 days. Grrreat! She said to keep giving him the antibiotic he has. I guess I will be buying more Tylenol and Ibubr
