Sorry, this got a little long....
My very best friend has generously offered to through me a baby shower. The other day she was talking to me about dates for the shower, stating that she would like to do it in the beginning of June (I'm due the beginning of August). Of course, whatever works for her, we decided on the 8th together. Since we were on the topic, she then started going into all the plans she had already started making for this summer day. I was more than happy to listen and not say anything negative about any plans that weren't my style, exactly. Not my place, and this is her gift to me. Where I'm finding issue with, is that we live in Kansas. The weather here is ridiculous. Basically the temps are guesses and the seasons don't matter. My BFF wants to host my shower outside, in a park, with no shade (aside from a few trees).
Of course, I appreciate where she is coming from. This park is literally across the street from my house (she lives in a neighboring town and is moving soon), and it is a very pretty park. I'm just super worried it's going to be hot as he!! this day, or raining, or super windy. Hosting events outside with no back up plan where we live just isn't a smart option.
Would it be acceptable for me to suggest finding an indoor place for the shower? We haven't discussed guest lists or limitations, or any other specifics. My home is too small to host any sort of get togethers (trust me, I've tried), but my mother said she'd be more than happy to open her home. I don't want to seem ungrateful for all that my BFF is doing for me, I just want to make sure my guests (and myself!) will be comfortable. Am I coming from a good place, or should I keep my eyes down and mouth shut? Please let me know what you think!

This is why I held my&nbs
I am not sure I agree with PP - anyone hosting an outdoor party needs to have a backup plan, and that's especially true if the guest of honor is pregnant and really should avoid being outside on a hot day with no shade, and I wouldn't be surprised if y
