He barely napped today...

DS just would not nap today. He slept for maybe an hour or two solid after his 8 am feeding, cat napped from noon to almost 4 (and by that I mean he slept with his paci in his mouth and never entered a deep sleep), then he didn't sleep until we forced him into his car seat at 8 (we had to go to the vet). He ate again at 9:30 and finally passed out! That is way too long for a baby to be awake during the day. Any tips for encouraging sleep? We swaddled, rocked, held, disengaged, etc. It's like the sun is too bright. Once night hits, he sleeps well.  But he definitely was fussy because he was tired.

    Dumb question but are you trying to put LO down at the first sign of sleepy? Like yawning, staring off into space etc.

    If we don't catch these signs almost immediately, on of our boys goes into overtired catnap mode. He isn't exactly fussy

    Must have been the day... DD slept even worse than that! The good thing was that she slept great last night! She's napping right now so hopefully today is different. I think they just have any off days sometimes
