Hi! My husband and I are relocating back to Pittsburgh and are looking for an OB/GYN. I heard West Penn was really good, any recommendations for Doctors or other hospitals?
Magee versus West Penn really seems like a hospital-system preference issue, and insurance does play a part, as supposedly at some time in the near future, UPMC facilities (e.g., Magee) will not accept Highmark insurance and/or West Penn facilities will not accept UPMC insurance. It hasn't happened yet though.
All of my healthcare providers are UPMC, so it made sense to me to stick with them. I see the Magee Womancare Yellow team with Dr. Andrew-Jaja and Dr. England and I like them both.
I am delivering at sewickley valley hospital. They are great there. My two rotating doctors are dr Brian labuda and dr Sara Silverman. I love both of them. It's through premier women's health located in sewickley or moon township :
I love the doctors with West Penn OB/gyn. Both of my kids were delivered at West Penn. my daughter was a high risk pregnancy and I was in the hospital for weeks followed by a NICU stay there as well. My husband and I were pleased with them through the whole process.
Look up Pittsburgh gynob. I switched to them in my first trimester and I've loved the time and attention they give. I've also had two friends deliver with them at West Penn 6 babies total. They have a few locations, good luck!
Dr.'s Bishop, Kridgen, Lebovitz, Yester, Alvarado-Reagans. They were a part of UUPMC/Magee, but left. They are an independent practice that will deliver @ West Penn. THey have offices north of city, south of city & in city. Plus, they are all females.
I was going to West Penn Ob/gyn to start and had a lot of problems with the doctors and nurses. They do not seem patient or caring at either the Coraopolis or Brentwood locations at least. I started going to Magee and love it, every staff member from scheduling all the way to the doctors are fabulous and sooo nice. I currently go to Dr. Tabitha Dawn Delo who has great bedside manner and acts like you are her only patient.
I second premier women's health in Sewickley. I delivered my first with Dr. Labuda and Dr. Fouss is my primary. I'm currently seeing them for my second. A lot of my friends has delivered through them and have positive things to say. Sewickley is a nice hospital to deliver at, more intimate than the big ones in the city(they told me they will rush you or the baby to Magee/children's if there is a problem they can't handle. Sewickley is this weird limbo hospital that's not considered out of network for umpc, and accepts high mark and Aetna with no issues.
